About us

The Great Western Hotel has been brought back to life by YMCA Dulverton Group as a business focused, plastic free hotel offering 15 bedrooms, a café, meeting/ function rooms along with a dedicated co-working space.

The hotel is an extension of YMCA Dulverton’s Group social enterprise initiative and will follow their successful projects such as the Beach Hotel in Minehead and Barley Wood Country House in Wrington. The Great Western Hotel will also be offering training in Hospitality, Catering and Business Skills to young people who may not otherwise be able to access such opportunities.

In 2018 the iconic but sadly derelict Great Western Hotel was bought by YMCA Dulverton Group, who saw the old hotel as an opportunity to restore the heart of a community. It has been lovingly restored to its former glory and is now one of the most highly rated hotels in the south west

Today, we are fully committed to helping young people in our community to shine. We offer apprenticeships, training and support to develop the talent in our kitchens and other services. Many of our apprentices go on to become full time additions to our energetic and professional staff team.
